I have been a real Michael Jackson fan since Thriller was released in 1982. The news of his unfortunate heart failure has hit me as if my sister had died.

You really need to know these facts about Michael Jackson to have credibility when talking about his life and death.

Michael Jackson’s middle name was Joseph. He was born August 29, 1958 and died June 25, 2009. He was an American Pop Icon with a reputation as the ‘king of pop’.

Michael Jackson was the seventh child of Joseph Jackson, his natural father. When he was eleven years old, he joined 4 of his brothers and began a band called “The Jackson 5”. His father's role was manager.

Not many people know that Michael had an acting roll as a Scarecrow in the 1978 R&B musical "The Wiz", which was an African American version of "The Wizard of Oz" . He worked along stars such as Diana Ross, Lena Horne, Nipsy Russell and Richard Pryor.

Michael Jackson departed the Jackson 5 in the Seventies to begin his solo career. He went on to become the most famous global recording artists of all time. He has several records including the largest number of album sales of all time. None of these Guinness records will be beaten especially now with the global interest at his awful death. Many fans are showing their love by wearing tribute t-shirts and attending tribute gatherings.

Michael was going to start the first 50 shows at a London O2 arena earmarked for July 13th 2009.

King of Pop fans around the planet adored Michael Jackson. His dance moves are copied time and again, the most famous being the moonwalk. The world will never see another showman like Michael Jackson. He’ll be badly missed.
